The storyline inside the film shows this. Chaplin’s tramp falls in like with Merna, who returns his passion. Then, a tightrope walker named Rex (performed by Henry Bergman) arrives on to the scene and Merna promptly falls in really like with him. Why? Since his act is daring and perilous when Chaplin’s clown act has considerably less prestige.
